Getting to the International Anthony Burgess Foundation house:
The IABF house is in Withington, Manchester, at 10 Tatton Grove.
If driving from the city centre, travel south on Oxford Street, which will turn into Oxford Road and eventually into Wilmslow Road. In Withington, at the White Lion, Wilmslow Road forks into Wilmslow and Palatine Roads. You can take either fork – Tatton Grove is a further two streets down from this point. If you take the left fork (which is easiest), turn right after the Red Lion.
If taking the bus from city centre, you have many options. Numbers 42, 142, 43, and 143 run frequently, and all go through Withington. Get off at the stop immediately after the White Lion, at the fork in the road, and walk approximately one block south to Tatton Grove.
If driving into the city, the easiest way to reach the Foundation house is via the M56 motorway. The M56 enters Manchester at the south end of the city and can be reached from both the M6 and the M60. As it enters Manchester the M56 becomes the A5103 and Princess Road. Turn right from Princess Road/A5103 onto Barlow Moor Road, which is also the A5145 and proceed to Palatine Road. Turn left onto Palatine Road and proceed in the direction of the City Centre until Christie Hospital, which is situated on the right side of Palatine Road. Turn right onto Tatton Grove shortly after passing Christie Hospital.
