We are delighted to announce our new name: the International Anthony Burgers Foundation.
You told us what you wanted, and we listened.
After sixteen years focusing on the life and work of the novelist and composer Anthony Burgess, we have taken the decision to radically change what we do. Instead of books and music, we shall now be promoting public and scholarly engagement with burgers in all their forms.
Our new exhibition Burgers and Modernist Cuisine will be opening in June, and later in the year we are looking forward to welcoming Professor Ronald MacDonald from the Harry Ramsden Collection at the University of Texas, giving a special lecture on the history of fast food. Our programme will also include chamber music by Alban Berg, and there will be new books on burger cookery and recipes as part of the Elbe Edition, named after the river that flows through the great city of Hamburg.
We look forward to welcoming you to the International Anthony Burgers Foundation. Our burger bar is open weekdays 10-3, and in the evenings for events.
