A Strategy for Homesickness

A temporary exhibition by second year Visual Arts students from the University of Salford Claudia Alonso, Marie Cash, Melissa Dolan, Ashleen Edwards, Luke Ezard, Elliott Flanagan, Sally-Ann Jackson, Peter Mason, Helena Oliveira, Robyn Parr, April Smith and Steve Webster. A Strategy For Homesickness evokes nostalgia. Originally a medical condition from the 17th century, ‘nostalgia’ was a malady attributed to Swiss mercenaries fighting in the plains of the lowlands of France and Italy who pined for their native mountain landscapes. In 2016, it is no longer perceived as debilitating and instead offers a positive sense of past experiences. Open 17:00 – 23:00, Friday 29th – Saturday 30th April. More info.
