Booklaunch: Into Dusk with Ruth Owen

Jean, whose life is blighted by childlessness, assumes multiple identities. Engaging in activities to improve, as she sees it, the wrongdoings of those around her, she fails to see the shortcomings of her own behaviour. Shame, failure and disappointment are prominent motifs within Into Dusk. As characters’ flaws are slowly revealed, the reader is challenged to decide who to support in this moral predicament. As well as two readings from Ruth, this evening will also feature Sarah Atkins-Navas, Paul Beatty, David Chadwick, Ros Davis, Nicky Harlow and Iris Feindt, plus an audience Q&A and book signing. Ruth Owen is a freelance writer and lecturer in English. Previously published in the Guardian and the Times Educational Supplement she is also a member of the Times English Advisory Panel. Her short story Sharing the Cost was published by Pandril Press in an anthology in 2013.
