Booklaunch: WOLF TIDE: Catherine Fox and Livi Michael in conversation

  • Thu 12 Dec 2013
  • 7:00 pm
  • £0.00
share

The second of a new series of author events in partnership with the Manchester Writing School at MMU launches Catherine Fox’s latest young-adult novel, WOLF TIDE. 17 year-old Anabara Nolio is descended from a long line of warriors. She is also a private investigator. When tasked with discovering the truth about the university library’s lost books she thinks it’s a simple case. But the city isle of Laridy is riddled with dark secrets and ancient magic – a legacy from historic dealings with the realm of the Fairy.

Catherine will be reading from the book and in conversation with fellow novelist and children’s author Livi Michael. She’ll also  be discussing how “mid-list” novelists have had to diversify to see their work in print, how her next book was partly crowd-sourced via Twitter, how she’s used blogs and social media to secure a publisher.

The event will open with some short readings from TIMELINES, MMU’s collection of short historical fiction for teens, featuring stories and illustrations by students of the Manchester Writing School and Manchester School of Art at MMU. Drinks will be available to purchase from the bar, and there’ll be a special bookstall, with signing after the event. Read more about WOLF TIDE on the blog: http://wolftide.blogspot.co.uk/
