Concert: Boz Hayward and the late Brian Tibby

Chorlton based singer-songwriter Boz Hayward is delighted to announce the launch of his third album, ‘Edward Edwardly and the Marquis of Flixton’, a collaboration with the late Brian Tibby. Alongside a full, live band performance will be screened the album’s accompanying documentary, ‘The Marquis of Flixton’, a portrait of Brian which reveals the unusual story behind its conception.

Shortly before falling ill, ‘Big Brian’ who regularly opened the Chorlton Folk Club sent a series of handwritten letters to Boz which he accumulated over several weeks, containing amongst them a series of whimsical observations of local life in the music hall mould of Viv Stanshall and the Bonzo Dog Doo-Dah Band. Inspired by the workings of Brian’s colourful and wonderfully eccentric imagination, ‘Edward Edwardly and the Marquis of Flixton’ is Boz’s witty response, a 13 track album which, named after one of the most vivid character sketches from the collection, sets each of these to his own unique blend of orchestral urban folk music.

Join Boz and friends in paying tribute to the memory of Brian through celebrating this unique collection of songs.

Admission £5 on the door.
