Matthew made his debut with the Malaysian Philharmonic Youth Orchestra, and has performed at Manchester’s Bridgewater Hall, St Martin in the Fields and Wigmore Hall in London. He performs regularly with musicians from the Hallé and BBC Philharmonic Orchestras in Manchester, where he is now based. Matthew can be heard playing masterpieces by Brahms, Fauré and Rautavaara on the Schimmel Artists Collection CD.
Doug was born in Edinburgh and was awarded a Postgraduate Diploma in Advanced Performance at the Royal Northern College of Music, where he is still based. He is now a cellist with ensembles and orchestras throughout the UK, including the BBC Philharmonic, the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic and Welsh National Opera. Doug plays a fine 19th century cello of unknown origin, generously bequeathed to him by Kitty Gregorson.
