Concert: Everything Starts Elsewhere

The collective lovemusic presents innovative concerts which are not restricted by genre or a specific instrumental formation but instead explore aesthetic and creative ideas to produce an alternative yet coherent discourse.
The collective enjoys exploring all repertoires and their work in direct collaboration with today’s composers completes their programming offering a new and original viewpoint of the present…
Everything Starts Elsewhere refers to a text by Argentinian poet Roberto Juarroz used for one of the pieces of this programme, but also to the creative process of transmission which begins in the imagination of composers, evolves into a written form, is interpreted by musicians and finally reinterpreted by the public. The text also refers to the itinerant nature of music, especially for this programme that reflects music from both sides of the Channel: created on one side and performed on the other.
Imagined around a new piece by Jérôme Combier based on texts by Samuel Beckett commissioned by the collective, this programme for voice, flute and clarinet includes music by Martin Iddon, Gilbert Amy, John Croft, Naomi Pinnock, Jesse Broekman and Betsy Jolas.
This concert benefits from the generous support of the Diaphonqiue Foundation. Admission is free, but there will be voluntary collection on the night.
