  • 7:30 pm
  • £8.00
BUY TICKETS share

This event kicks off the UK promo tour for Fumiko Miyachi’s debut album ‘Transitional Metal’.

Cobalt Duo (Fumiko Miyachi and Kate Halsall) will present three pieces for piano duet from the album ‘Ag47(Silver)’, ‘Co27(Cobalt)’ and ‘L.S. no.1& no.2’, alongside works by Jo Kondo and Colin Riley.

Fumiko Miyachi is a composer and pianist who has performed worldwide, including for the BBC Singers and Opera North. As a pianist, she specialises in contemporary repertoire and has premiered many pieces by composers including Howard Skempton, Michael Finnissy and Diana Burrell. She has been Kate Halsall’s piano duo partner since 2013.

“An eagerly awaited debut portrait album… Fumiko has always been drawn to the elegant neatness of the periodic table and the rhythmic drive and clarity of texture inherent in her music which somehow brings to mind the ‘metal’ connection.” Women Make Music
