Concert: Manchester Contemporary Youth Opera

Manchester Contempory Youth Opera presents the premiere of five brand new short operas written by MYCO composers, performed by MCYO Singers, and directed by Emma Doherty.

From video games to refugees, Russian fairytales to the Italian Mafia, MYCO will take you on a whirlwind tour of intrigue, deciet and heartbreak.

Manchester Contemporary Youth Opera is a summer course for singers, composers, and instrumentalists. Each year, new operas are written and staged following an intensive two-week course. The company is led by the participants with support from professional mentors in the areas of movement, character, voice, composition, and contemporary music performance.
