Norbert MeynJoin the Warth Mills Project for a unique classical music performance, in association with Refugee Week. Norbert Meyn and his Ensemble Émigré present and perform the work of composer, Peter Gellhorn.

Among the notable artists interned at Warth Mills in the Summer of 1940 was the German writer and conductor Peter Gellhorn. In 2016, Peter was the subject of an AHRC-funded project led by the Royal College of Music and musician Norbert Meyn (pictured).

Norbert and his outstanding Ensemble Émigré perform a recital of Peter Gellhorn’s work alongside that of other musicians interned in Bury. It will tell the story of a period when art and music flourished behind barbed wire.

For more information about Norbert’s work visit norbertmeyn.com. For details about the Peter Gellhorn AHRC project, visit petergellhorn.com.

This event is presented in association with Refugee Week 2018.
