Concert: VIRTUALLYREALITY presents Bastard Assignments + SHOAL

  • Fri 12 Apr 2019

VIRTUALLYREALITY presents two UK-based foursomes who to call ‘quartets’ seems utterly reductive. These are collective whose practices extend far beyond the established realms of musical performance into physicality, performance art, multimedia and new means of listening.

Bastard Assignments are Timothy Cape, Edward Henderson, Caitlin Rowley and Josh Spear, a London-based collective of composer-performers who’s varied output of experimental music traverses performativity, movement and live art. In their premiere Manchester performance, Bastard Assignments present to-be-announced work that will undoubtedly be “thrillingly odd … Fluxus for the Facebook generation” (Igor Toronyi-Lalic, hcmf// festival programme).

SHOAL are a physical performance, new music, multimedia and experimental ensemble who specialise in creating immersive experiences. They will present a brand new set focusing on technological interference and the fallibility of the human body with music by Dan Tramte, Michael Baldwin, Cassandra Miller and MICHAELBRAILEY.

Doors 7:30pm – 8pm start. Click here for tickets and more information.
