Literature: Free Lunchtime Talks about Poems 1 – Paul Muldoon’s American Standard
- Tue 26 Feb 2019
- 1:10 pm
Join poets and teachers from the Centre for New Writing for a discussion of a new long poem by Paul Muldoon, American Standard, published earlier this month in the Times Literary Supplement.
Burgess Fellow Zaffar Kunial, poet and editor Michael Schmidt and poets Frances Leviston and John McAuliffe will respond to the new work of a poet described as “the most significant English-language poet born since the Second World War.” We’ll be asking (and taking) questions about Muldoon’s style, about how he writes about Trump’s America, and about his place in contemporary literature.
