Time and The Rose Garden: Encountering The Magical In The Life And Works Of J.B. PriestleyThe main lecture for this one-day conference is by internationally-renowned author Anthony Peake, author of many books including his recent study of Priestley ‘Time and the Rose Garden‘.

Anthony Peake was the keynote speaker at the annual J.B. Priestley Society lecture  at Queen Mary University in London and is a member of the J.B. Priestley Society. He lives in West Sussex, UK.

Also featured: John Baxendale on Priestley’s experimental drama and the inter-war “High-brow v Middle-brow” controversies.

The conference features detailed reassessments of Priestley’s boldest dramatic experiments. Plus:

> Michael Nelson on ‘Time and the Conways’
> Lee Hanson on ‘Johnson over Jordan’
> Ken Smith on ‘Music at Night’
> Tony and Jenny Reavill present readings from and commentary on the Jungian Play ‘Dragons Mouth’, co-authored by Priestley and his wife Jacquetta Hawkes

The conference fee runs from 9.45am until 4.15pm and includes tea and coffee. Lunch can be purchased in the Burgess cafe. Book here.
