Manchester Folk Festival: Leather belt-making workshop with Nia Denman

Craft a custom-made vegetable tanned leather belt in this half day workshop with leather-worker Nia Denman.
You will learn the skills necessary for making a basic belt and then have the opportunity to personalise with an embossed message or your name.
Skills covered in the course include:
> Cutting hide/leather
> Hole punching
> Bevelling and burnishing edges
> Riveting
> Skiving leather
> Embossing
> Saddle stitch (optional)
Option for 20mm or 38mm width buckle in silver or brass.
Nia teaches sandal and leather craft workshops in West Wales. Her workshops use simple and easy to source materials and tools with the intention of empowering and inspiring attendees to continue making at home.
The workshop is suitable for beginners, no previous experience is necessary.
