Manchester Folk Festival: Spoon carving with Vic Phillips

  • Sat 20 Oct 2018
  • 1:30 pm
  • £35.00
share

SpoonsJoin Vic Phillips of SingleMaltTeapot and discover the creative wonders of hand carving a wooden utensil.

During the workshop you’ll learn:

> How to work with a natural material
> The cutting methods involved and how best to apply them
> How to beautifully finish to your hand-carved spoon

As you are guided through the process you’ll discover the meditative, enriching nature of working with something that has grown over time and will head home with the next part in that story: your very own, hand carved wooden spoon.

The workshop is suitable for beginners, no previous experience is necessary.

Choose your workshop time: Saturday 10am, Saturday 1.30pm and Sunday 10am. Click here for all three.

This event is part of Manchester Folk Festival – an urban folk festival. It takes place over 18-21 October 2018, in an around HOME and the city centre. Over the autumn weekend, they present an exhilarating range of events, with the spotlight on English folk.
