A morning of workshops for Manchester Folk Festival.

Calligraphy: Join By Moon And Tide’s Claire Gould and learn how to write a gorgeously quirky modern calligraphy script with a dip pen and copperplate nib. From initial scratches and swirls you’ll soon be writing beautiful letters, quotes and flourishes – all in the space of a couple of hours! Calligraphy kits will be available to buy at the end of your workshop, in case you fall head over heels for calligraphy!

Spoon carving: Join Vic Phillips of SingleMaltTeapot and discover the creative wonders of hand carving a wooden utensil. During the workshop you’ll discover how to work with a natural material the cutting methods involved and how best to apply them how to beautifully finish to your hand carved spoon.

Lino printing (Sat only): Master the basics of lino-printing in this workshop with printmaker and professional illustrator Jenna Clark. In this 2.5 hour workshop, Jenna will take you step-by-step through the process of creating and printing an original one-colour linocut card design.

This runs from 10am-12pm.
