The Manchester Writing School at Manchester Met and the International Anthony Burgess Foundation are delighted to welcome Welsh Book of the Year winners Manon Steffan Ros and Llwyd Owen.

Manon Steffan Ros published her only novel in English ‘The Seasoning’ in 2015. Llwyd Owen has written ten novels, two of them in English: ‘Faith, Hope and Love’ and ‘The Last Hit‘. Both authors have been met with critical acclaim, with ‘Faith, Hope and Love’ winning the fiction category of the Welsh Book of the Year award in 2007, and Manon winning the same award with ‘The Seasoning’ in 2013.

Both Manon and Llwyd are part of a stimulating new wave of Welsh contemporary fiction, providing an audience with an innovative and thrilling image of Wales. The authors will be reading from their works, and with Q&A host Ava MacPherson will discuss politics and the stigmatizing yet important issue of Welsh identity. They will also answer questions from the audience. English copies of their books with be available to buy at the event with signing after the event.

This event is free, but booking is essential. Book your tickets here.
