Messiah abstract

Collective31, UK Contemporary Music and Arts Organisation presents: ‘Handel’s Messiah: Re-imagined’ a contemporary interpretation of a classic.

Kantos Chamber Choir and Orchestra will be performing the traditional Messiah under the baton of up-and-coming conductor Elspeth Slorach. Interspersed within this magnificent piece will be six newly commissioned electroacoustic works that have taken their inspiration from Handel’s iconic work.

An innovative combination of traditional and contemporary music, ‘Handel’s Messiah: Re-imagined’ will bring the best of two musical worlds together for a unique event.

A free pre-performance talk at 6.30pm will allow you to hear the thoughts and processes of the composers when faced with re-imagining Handel’s Messiah in electroacoustic form.

Kindly supported by Arts Council England.
