Music: DMLab Challenge North West- Final Showcase

Kris Halpin

For the DMLab Challenge North West, four disabled musicians have worked on a challenging live brief using bespoke technology with a creative collaborator. At this showcase, the four finished designs will be unveiled and played live, along with a powerful short talk and a chance to get up close with new cutting edge tech.

Drake Music works with disabled musicians and hackers to support innovation in music technology. Kris Halpin (pictured) will host, playing live with the amazing gesture-controlled MiMU gloves. Seeing Kris perform live with the gloves is a wonderful experience. Watching him conjure strings out of thin air and kick start a drum sound with a single gesture is – quite simply – magical.

The event runs from 2pm until 3.30pm, tickets are free, and you should register here.

Access Info

The venue is fully accessible and is equipped with a lift to all floors, induction loop and ground-level entry to the venue and café. If you require any assistance or more information regarding accessibility at the Burgess Foundation then please contact the venue on 0161 235 0776. If you have any access requirements which you’d like to discuss with Drake Music please contact abigailward @ drakemusic.org.
