Tramlines is a cross-continental commission bringing together authors from around Europe and beyond to explore urban landscapes through the prism of the short story, and using tram infrastructures as inspiration. The project will culminate in the launch of a free iPhone app that allows readers to experience the stories as they travel. This event, the first stop on the journey, sees Manchester author Michelle Green take us on an excursion through the Croatian capital, Zagreb, while renowned author, editor and festival director Roman Simić shines a new light on Manchester’s own Metrolink. Michelle Green’s debut collection of short stories about the Darfur civil war is due out from Comma in 2013 and Roman Simić has appeared in Comma’s Elsewhere anthology. In association with Comma Press and Literature Across Frontiers. £5/£3. Book on 0843 208 0500 or via Quay Tickets. A Manchester Literature Festival event.
