A homeless veteran with PTSD confronts his illness, and the underfunded governmental system he is trapped within, in the play room of his ex-girlfriend’s son.
“Seven months ago, Corporal Liam Drury retired from an eight-year career in the British army. Upon his return to his wife and daughter, he is confronted with sudden and debilitating flashbacks to his time in combat. Now he is shunted from sofa to sofa, without a stable residence: leading him to the playroom in the home of his childhood sweetheart Ella. Tackling issues of homelessness, the mental health cuts and veteran support, ‘Action Man’ details the malfunctions of Liam’s traumatised mind that have lead his once regimented life to spiral into utter collapse.”
