- Free
Following on from last year’s sold-out Elizabeth Gaskell Tour, Ed Glinert (of New Manchester Walks and author of the Manchester Compendium) now takes us on a journey round the local landmarks that featured in the varied and bohemian life of Anthony Burgess. Best known for his novel A Clockwork Orange, Burgess wrote more than 50 books as well as many critical works and musical compositions. The coach and walking tour will finish at the International Anthony Burgess Foundation with a special talk given by the centre’s director and Burgess biographer, Dr Andrew Biswell, and an opportunity to have lunch in the centre’s café. Book early as places are limited.
Starting at Manchester Cathedral, Victoria Street, Manchester M3 1SX
Part of Manchester Literature Festival.
