Natasha Brown and Will Harris

Join us for the latest in the Literature Live series, presented by the Centre for New Writing in partnership with the International Anthony Burgess Foundation.

This event will welcome the Spring 2022 Burgess Fellows, novelist Natasha Brown and poet Will Harris, and will feature readings by both authors.

Natasha Brown spent a decade working in financial services, after studying Maths at Cambridge University. She wrote Assembly, her debut novel, after receiving a 2019 London Writers Award in the literary fiction category. Assembly was shortlisted for the Folio Prize and the Goldsmiths Prize, and was selected as a Book of the Year 2021 by the Observer, the New Statesman and the Guardian – among others. Bernadine Evaristo described it as “exquisite, daring, utterly captivating”.

Will Harris is a London-based writer. His debut collection of poetry, RENDANG (2020) was published by Granta in the UK and Wesleyan University Press in the US. It was a Poetry Book Society Choice, shortlisted for the T.S. Eliot Prize and won the Forward Prize for Best First Collection. His book-length essay, Mixed-Race Superman – praised by Inua Ellams as “startling, rich, illustrious and utterly, utterly brilliant” – was published by Peninsula Press in 2018. He co-edited the Spring 2020 issue of The Poetry Review.

Everyone is welcome, and ticket prices include discounts at the Blackwell’s bookstall.
