Catherine Johnson and Chris Priestley

A workshop for young writers who love the gruesome, spooky or macabre. Join award-winning Young Adult authors Catherine Johnson and Chris Priestley for an afternoon of reading and writing, and have a go at creating your own ‘tales of terror’.

Catherine Johnson is the writer of several historical novels, including the forensic crime thrillers Sawbones (2013) and Blade and Bone (2016),

Chris Priestley is the author of the Tales of Terror ghost stories, the Frankenstein-inspired Mister Creecher and the Maudlin Towers series. In this session, you will hear about the writers speak about their work and have the opportunity to develop your own ideas.

This workshop is suitable for young writers and people interested in writing for children and teens. Whether you are already a budding writer or just interested in getting started, join us this Halloween!

This event is part of Halloween in the City 2019. It is organised by Dr Chloe Germaine Buckley, and runs from 2pm until 4pm. Under 16s must be accompanied by an adult. Book your free tickets here.
