‘ENERGY CAN NEITHER BE CREATED NOR DESTROYED… ONLY TRANSFORMED’ ~ Sir Isaac Newton

Valette Ensemble presents two iconic works by John Adams and Richard Strauss. Two journeys, two reflections of life in motion – both responding to change.

Birthed from the musical discovery of tape loops – Adams’ Shaker Loops presents a bright-eyed, modern work embracing technological change. Strauss’ Metamorphosen mourns the destruction of culture and loss to humanity in the wake of war.

(GUEST POET TBC) will reflect on these two sound worlds through spoken word looking deeper into themes of the environment and our own response to change in the present day.

Valette Ensemble is a dynamic chamber group that aims to perform new & underrepresented music while re-imagining the old. They hope to bring a fresh take on well-known classical repertoire as well as collaborating with todays upcoming composers, artists and musicians to bring a new experience to classical music.

Doors open from 7:30pm
