Exhibition: Burgess and Chaplin
- Wed 13 Jan 2016
- 10:00 am
‘Burgess and Chaplin’ is a celebration of Charlie Chaplin’s appearances in the theatres of Manchester during his early years as a music hall entertainer. Using archive photographs, memorabilia and film, this exhibition tells the story of long-lost theatres and music halls of Manchester, through the lens of Burgess’s writing. To accompany this exhibition, we will also be hosting three screenings of arguably Chaplin’s greatest work of the silent cinema era, The Gold Rush (1926) at HOME, Manchester, on Sunday 10th, Tuesday 12th and Wednesday 13th January.
