Welcome to a very special day at Manchester’s Anthony Burgess Foundation celebrating the life and times of Doctor Who Producer John Nathan-Turner! Enjoy a special performance of Me And Him And Who, with cast and crew, plus a range of special guests gathering to discuss the man, the myth and the work, a chat show with our old friend Beep plus a host of retail and autograph opportunities.

Doors open at 1pm and we expect to be wrapped by 5:30pm. Please note, we will be filming the performance and panels.

Special guests confirmed (subject to work commitments) include Andrew Cartmel (script editor Sylvester McCoy era), Stephen Wyatt (writer Greatest Show in the Galaxy and Paradise Towers, plus Me and Him and Who), Stephen Gallagher (writer Warriors’ Gate and Terminus) and Richard Marson (writer: Totally Tasteless, the life of John Nathan-Turner).

In honour of John’s rich comedy cabaret tradition, honed at the many conventions he attended over the years round the world, we are delighted to be welcoming Professor Tarpey and Beep to the programme, ably assisted by Mr. David. If you were at the Vworp 61st Anniversary party, you’ll know how Beep approaches interviewing their guests in a final, light-hearted session which we can’t wait to share with you.

Guests will be available to sign items after the programme, with varying prices applied per item. We will also be joined by Cutaway Comics on the day who will have a raft of new books available to buy.

About Me And Him And Who, a play by Stephen Wyatt.

Room 5064 Productions is proud to be bringing to the stage Stephen Wyatt’s Me and Him and Who, a touching and honest portrait of Doctor Who’s most flamboyant behind the scenes creative force: John Nathan-Turner. Nathan-Turner presided over three distinct eras of classic Doctor Who from 1980 – 1989, as the producer incarnate. But his ability to juggle budgets, actors, and egos brought about his perceived downfall as he struggled to channel his talents after the BBC cancelled the show in 1989.

With his partner, Gary Downie unwell with cancer, and his own health sliding downhill due to alcohol abuse, this is the story of the final three acts of John Nathan-Turner’s life as he attempts to write a ‘tell-all’ autobiography of his time on the show that came to define him.

Starring Richard Unwin as John and Paul Anton as Gary, Me and Him and Who is written by acclaimed Stephen Wyatt whose TV credits include Doctor Who, Casualty, The House of Elliott, theatre credits include The Standard Bearer, Told Look Younger and Look Up at the Stars and as a radio writer has won the Tinniswood Award for best original radio script twice – the only writer to have done so.
