About Destination Florida

Our dreams are routed in jet streams of cherished, lifelong memories for children facing life’s toughest challenges.

The first Destination Florida trip took place in 1988 with 25 children, made possible by our founders, Doctor David Evans and Sister Alex Shaw, alongside the support of British Airways ground staff.

Inspired by a group of northern children who were nominated for a trip to Florida through a London charity, but were not chosen, our founders aimed to provide a once-in-a-lifetime holiday experience for children with life-limiting conditions living in the north of England.

About Aaron Calvert

Originally trained as a doctor, Aaron Calvert swapped his stethoscope for the stage, combining psychology, mind reading, and hypnotic techniques to create unforgettable, ‘gasp-worthy‘ experiences (The List). From Channel 4 special Hello Stranger to critically acclaimed theatre shows, Aaron’s performances captivate audiences and leave them awe-struck.

Aaron’s expertise in influence and decision-making has led to groundbreaking projects, including hypnosis at 30,000 feet, VICE Media’s Stop Smoking Campaign, and most recently, a TED Talk. Aaron brings a unique blend of insight, humor, and showmanship to every stage.
