Theatre: One Hand Clapping

House of Orphans and the Burgess Foundation present scenes from Anthony Burgess’s black comedy, One Hand Clapping, to celebrate a new reissue of the novel by Serpent’s Tail. Average couple Janet and Howard’s lives begin to unravel when Howard’s photographic memory helps win him a gameshow fortune. Burgess’s 1961 darkly comic satire of drab English consumerism is still relevant today. Tickets available here.
