A showcase of young Manchester creative talent comprised of two halves, each featuring a play and a curated set of complementary music.

Welcome to A Night of Words and Music, a showcase of young Manchester creative talent featuring two new short plays, with musical interludes and accompaniment provided by the dynamic Emerz Collective.

The Tiger (written by and dir. Nicholas Blake) – A British couple who have recently moved to central India wake up to find a tiger in their bedroom. And you have to address the tiger in the bedroom.

Montol (written by Enid Kirk, dir. Isabella Brimson) – Three women from different walks of life find themselves stuck at a bus stop in the middle of the night, following the Cornish solstice celebration. The play explores the difficulties of rural life and the joys of folk song and dance.

The Emerz Collective – A contemporary classical and folk string ensemble whose members hail from the Royal Northern College of Music. Their recent work has included working with the American composer John Adams as part of the recent John Adams Festival in Manchester.

The night will be comprised of two halves, each featuring a play and a curated set of complementary music. There will be an interval during which the bar will be open.
