Part of a broader project on trans healthcare and creativity, this event, organised by the Centre for New Writing, will explore the possible futures of trans healthcare provision in the UK.

Join us for a roundtable discussion with guest contributors from a range of organisations, networks, and creative practices, including Shash Appan (Trans Aid Cymru, Trans Safety Network), Nico Dhillon (Community Organising Coordinator, LGBT Foundation), Yvy DeLuca (writer, performer and activist, and author of Tainted Beauty), Jack Tielemans (trans programmer at The Proud Trust), and Jordan Osserman (University of Essex/’Waiting Times’ project).

Please note that this is an in-person event at the International Anthony Burgess Foundation in Manchester. We ask that attendees consider wearing a mask if possible, and, if feasible, take a lateral flow test in the twenty-four hours ahead of the event.

Speakers include Shash Appan, co-founder of Trans Aid Cymru, Nico Dhillon, Community Organising Coordinator at LGBT Foundation, Yvy ‘The BollyWitch’ DeLuca, author of Tainted Beauty – The Memoir of an Authentic Creation, Jack Tielemans, programme manager at The Proud Trust, and Jordan Osserman, Lecturer in the Department of Psychosocial and Psychoanalytic Studies at the University of Essex.

This event is accompanied by a writing workshop for trans, non-binary, and gender non-conforming writers and those interested in writing, which will take place on Friday 10 June at 6pm.
