Anthony Burgess was born in Harpurhey, north Manchester in 1917, and grew up in Miles Platting and Moss Side. Listen to these extracts from his autobiography, Little Wilson and Big God, in which he talks about his family history, memories of the Lancashire food he ate as a boy, his memories of childhood Christmases, and the local dialect.
